Hello Food lovers! Today I present you with my personal favourite vegan/ very vegan friendly places. Personally I do enjoy Vegan food, although I prefer the non-meat alternative kind and I am kind of tired of always having a plant base burger. For my fellow foodies out there who are visiting London or even for the locals, I have a few vegan if not very vegan friendly restaurants to recommend. And I will not include restaurants who only has salad options! This post is dedicated to my friend who is Vegan and dragged me to try these mouthwatering places.
Holy Carrot
A little on the fancy side and I would definitely label this a cute place for a date or just a lovely night out with friends. Whether you’re coming here to celebrate or not you will without a doubt be drawn to the abundant vegan options because this restaurant is 100% vegan. Not to forget their extensive wine selection, this is a literal win. Coming here for new years dinner was a treat because the restaurant is quite hidden it felt like we had found a gold mine. Holy Carrot has a large variety of options from shepherd’s pie, parsnip root risotto and a delicious maki set you would be overwhelmed with the options. So make sure to come with an empty stomach and make sure to try the purple potato croquettes, the sushi selection and don’t forget the chocolate cheesecake dessert.
Mali Vegan Thai
This hidden gem is located next to Earls court station and is a Thai restaurant with 100% vegan family recipes. The ambiance was really good and the food was just incredible. Thai food is famous for their colourful and beautifully presented food. I always find it hard to find vegan Asian food so this was literally a rare unicorn. I ordered the garlic “duck” noodles and was literally in love with each mouthful. I highly recommend this place and the staff is so welcoming.
Maroush Beauchamp Place
This is a Lebanese restaurant near Knightsbridge station. This place was recommended by a friend and although the food isn’t 100% vegan, there is a wide selection of vegan options. If you have the chance to visit this place I recommend ordering some hummus, spinach pastry and the aubergine casserole. Admittedly, this was my first time trying Lebanese food and was instantly in love. I definitely want to go back to choose the other options from the menu like the grilled aubergine mixed with sesame paste because there was just that many.
Unity Diner
Usually vegan fast food isn’t really something I enjoy but if you ever pop in to Unity Diner near Liverpool street please know that the dirty loaded fries are God sent. They add kebab and vegan cheese fries, I was just heaven and don’t forget the deep fried “shrimps” because as a seafood lover, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference. Although I do have to say that I found the “lobster roll” a little too bland, so maybe pass that one.
Wahaca
This Mexican restaurant is a notable mention as although it isn’t 100% vegan, it’s very vegan friendly. Because of my pescatarian diet, I find it really hard to have Mexican food as it mostly contains beef or chicken. Since this is a food chain, its easy to find this restaurant around London. I went to the one in Westfield shepherd’s bush and really enjoyed their black been and vegan cheese quesadilla.
I really want to update this list one day and include a really yummy restaurant with Indian food. But let me know if you tried any of my recommendations when visiting London and if you have any recommendations to share because I can never get enough of vegan food.
